In 2026, the International Conference Centre of the Joint Institute for Nuclear Research opens a new page in its history. The Gallery is a modern exhibition space created at the intersection of scientific diplomacy and aesthetic search.

Here, within the walls of the historical building of the Soviet modernist era, art becomes a natural extension of the intellectual life of the Institute, offering the participants of the international scientific community a universal language of images and a territory for free contemplation.

A new exhibition

"Alexander Pankin.
Number as Event"

Dedicated to one of the key representatives
of science art.
It is the first large-scale retrospective since the artist's final lifetime exhibition at the Moscow Museum of Modern Art in 2019. Paintings, graphics, installations, photo and video materials, sketches from the Pankin family’s archive as well as the collections of Olga Popova, Sergey Popov, and artist Sergey Katran will be on display.

One of the reasons behind "Alexander Pankin. Number as Event" project being presented in Dubna is that the JINR Scientists Club hosted the artist’s 1985 debut solo exhibition marking the beginning of his public activity.

The exhibition curator is Nikita Spiridonov, an artist and composer working at the intersection of visual art, sound, and urban environment studies.
